Getting Started

ETC Wallet is a desktop wallet built specifically for the Ethereum Classic network. It allows you to create addresses, store ETC, and send transactions while keeping full control over your keys.

ETC Wallet is non-custodial. The wallet does not hold your funds or private keys. All keys are generated and stored locally on your device.

ETC Wallet is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Each version provides the same core functionality and local key storage.

After installing the application, you can create a new wallet directly in the app. The wallet will generate a new address and show a recovery phrase during setup.

The recovery phrase is a set of words that can restore access to your wallet on another device. If you lose your device or reinstall the app, this phrase is required to recover your funds.

No account or registration is required. ETC Wallet works without user accounts and does not collect personal information.

Security

Private keys are generated and stored locally on your device. They are never sent to external servers or third-party services.

Access to the wallet is protected by a password you set during setup. This password is required to unlock the wallet and sign transactions.

No. The wallet does not require registration and does not collect personal or usage data. It operates without user accounts or tracking.

If your device is lost or damaged, you can restore your wallet on another device using your recovery phrase. Without this phrase, access to funds cannot be restored.

ETC Wallet is developed as an open-source project, allowing the code to be reviewed by the community. Users are encouraged to verify the software and follow updates through the public repository.

Transactions

Transaction confirmation time depends on network conditions and the fee you set. Most transactions are confirmed within a few blocks on the Ethereum Classic network.

Transaction fees are paid in ETC and depend on gas usage and the gas price you choose. Higher gas prices generally result in faster confirmation.

Once a transaction is broadcast to the network, it cannot be canceled. In some cases, you may replace a pending transaction by sending a new one with a higher gas price from the same address.

A transaction may remain pending if the gas price is too low or if the network is busy. Increasing the gas price in a replacement transaction can help it confirm.

You can view transaction details directly in the wallet or by opening the transaction hash in a public Ethereum Classic blockchain explorer.

Troubleshooting

Make sure you are using the latest version of the wallet and that your operating system is up to date. Restarting the application or reinstalling it often resolves startup issues.

Check that the wallet is connected to the Ethereum Classic mainnet and that the correct address is selected. Balances may also take time to appear if the network connection is slow.

This can happen due to network connectivity issues or incorrect fee settings. Try reconnecting to the network and resending the transaction with an appropriate gas price.

The wallet password cannot be recovered. If you have your recovery phrase, you can restore the wallet on a new installation and set a new password.
